Nicole McCance is a relationship expert and has been providing counselling services to older adolescents and adults for the past 10 years across North America and in Russia. She has been featured on CP 24 and Roger’s Television. 

Nicole is currently completing her Ph.D in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. She has a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto, a B.A. in Criminology and a B.A with Honours in Psychology from Carleton University.

Nicole operates a private practice in Toronto, where she incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy, positive psychology, mind-body science and spiritual exploration into her treatment approach.

"I’d like people to think about how they’re feeling right now. When you’re feeling awful, I’d like you to think about what you’re focusing on, because if you’re focusing on something negative, you will feel negative. Your focus is connected to your thought, so if you shift your focus in this moment, just shift it to something more neutral, positive, or something that’s working for you today, and in that moment -- you will feel better. If my clients are depressed, they are focusing on thing that aren't working, or are stressful or out of their control. So shifting your focus will lead to an increase in your happiness. A slight increase."
