Mary Aitken is the  founder of  Verity, a private women's club in downtown Toronto. Verity www.verity.ca is a business, social, fitness and wellness club, which includes: a women’s spa, Sweetgrass (www.sweetgrassspa.ca), George (www.georgeonqueen.com), one of Toronto’s top restaurants and a boutique hotel, The Ivy at Verity (www.theivyatverity.ca).

A highly successful entrepreneur, Mary has founded a number of companies, including Pronto Toronto, a start-up courier business; as well as an investment banking company, Renaissance Securities Inc. With husband, Peter Gundy, Mary founded Neomaterial Technologies Inc., which produces high tech performance materials in China and Thailand for the world electronics industry, and has over 1600 employees around the world.

Mary is mother and stepmother to six sons. More lately, she has been working with disadvantaged girls and women. Verity is her project to return something to the Toronto community by improving the status of women in business and assisting underprivileged women and girls.
